Dr. Nichols will use this information to calculate your Nichols Smile Score, a detailed evaluation of your smile, and suggest areas for improvement.
Next, Dr. Nichols will create a tailored treatment plan for you, based on the suggestions of your Nichols Smile Score. This plan focuses on improving alignment, spacing, and overall dental health to help bring out your perfect smile.
In addition to Damon Braces or Spark Aligners, we may utilize other appliances throughout your treatment to perfect your smile. Learn more about these appliances by clicking on them below!
Initial treatments focus on improving your airway, facial profile, and smile width. Options may include braces and spark aligners but can also involve expanders or nightly face masks to advance the upper jaw, or a Herbst appliance to advance the lower jaw.
Next, the focus shifts to straightening your teeth and closing any gaps. Braces or aligners are mainly used to achieve a well-aligned smile and refine the smile arc.
Then, the focus is on the position of your upper teeth and midlines. While braces or aligners continue to be used, TADs (mini screws) may help to fix tooth positioning. A Gingivectomy, Bite Turbos and Hard Tissue Contouring may also provide other options to help ensure proper bite and tooth alignment
Further adjustments are made to enhance the width of your smile and ensure proper occlusion. Treatments may include Damon Braces, Spark Aligners, TADs, Herbst Appliance, Palate Expanders and Bite Turbos. Paired with Damon Braces, elastics may also be used to fine-tune jaw position.
This step focuses on the shape, proportion, and color of your teeth. Damon Braces, Spark Aligners and Hard Tissue Contouring will help with tooth shape and proportion while teeth whitening will take care of tooth color.
The last adjustments address the appearance of your gums. Damon Braces or Spark Aligners can play a big role in this step. But, the most commonly known treatments for gum display are Gingivectomies and TADs, as they are used to refine gum shape and visibility.
